Iyengar Yoga is a traditional method of Yoga that enhances your physical strength, increases your flexibility, heightens your postural awareness and deepens your breath awareness. Iyengar Yoga uses the body to fine-tune the mind, bringing it toward a point of stillness. As a result of practice, you become more self-aware. Your mind becomes focused, steady and calm. Your stress levels are reduced, enhancing everything you do. All body systems benefit from a regular yoga practice — musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory, digestive, immune and nervous systems.
Paula provides a welcoming space that encourages your exploration of yoga. Asanas (the yoga postures) and pranayama (the yogic breathing techniques) are taught, practised and refined over time. Each class completes with savasana (relaxation practice) that allows your body time to integrate the benefits of Yoga before continuing with your day. This uplifting and relaxed state can be experienced throughout your entire body-mind and have far-reaching benefits. Through the practice of Iyengar Yoga, you may notice how you hold yourself, reflects and influences your mood and mind.
